Many important things take place at convention: delegates are elected to the state convention, a platform is adopted, and a new central committee is elected. Democratic residents of Nevada will meet to elect precinct captains, elect delegates to their county convention, submit proposals for the Party platform, and mingle with other Democrats in their community. The unifying theme throughout these diverse topics is the assertion that all human beings have the right to be free from violence, the right to be heard, and the right to reclaim those rights if they are violated. TBTN provides an opportunity to speak out against violence, remember victims, support survivors, celebrate recovery, and make the UNLV campus and Las Vegas community a safer place. This year, Take Back the Night will be on Wed., Oct. 23, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. ![]() Nevada State Democratic Party will hold activist training summits in both southern and northern Nevada. These are open to any registered Democrat in Nevada, no matter whether you are a seasoned volunteer, a candidate or someone new looking to get involved for the first time. The summit will be held in Las Vegas on October 12th and in Reno on October 13th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $25 per person which covers both breakfast and lunch. Seating is limited and interested persons are encouraged to sign up early. ![]() The Nevada State Association of Parliamentarians will hold their annual meeting and training workshop on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Texas Station Hotel Convention Center. This is a great opportunity to get some basic parliamentary skills or brush up on those you already know. The public is welcome to attend.
