The Clark County Democratic Black Caucus will host a congressional candidate forum on Monday, February 27th at Ebenzer Church of God in Christ from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

An orchestra will perform Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun," a Mozart violin concerto (with violinist Laraine Kaizer-Viazovtsev), and "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme" by Richard Strauss on February 26th to benefit the Musicians Union Local 369.
The concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Community Lutheran Church located at 3720 East Tropicana Ave. in Las Vegas.
The price of admission is donation based.
The Clark County Democratic Party will hold a series of Platform hearings to review resolutions and hear discussion on items to be included in the 2012-2014 party platform.
The first hearing takes place on February 25th at 11:30 a.m. The topic for discussion is Energy, Environment and Land Use.
The majority of hearings will take place at the Culinary Union local #226 hall located at 1630 South Commerce Street in Las Vegas.
This is one of several citizen workshops that Mi Familia Vota will be holding over 2012. Volunteers will help individuals fill out necessary documents and provide explanations of the citizenship process.
The workshop takes place from 8:30 am -to 4:30 p.m. at the Rio Hotel Convention Center located at 3700 West Flamingo Road in Las Vegas.

Veterans in Politics will hold open interviews of Clark County judicial candidates on February 25th from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Greater Las Vegas Marine Corps Leatherneck Club, located at 4360 W. Spring Mountain Rd.
Although Veterans in Politics is known to have conservative Republican leanings, the public is invited to the interviews so it's one more opportunity to hear from the judicial candidates running for office.

The Nevada League of Cities and Municipalities Quarterly Board will meet on Friday, February 24th via videoconference in Carson City, Las Vegas and Elko. This meeting has a very full agenda containing many items of public interest.

As a democratically controlled organization, NREA understands the importance of average citizens seeking political office and wants to encourage their participation in the democratic process. For this reason NREA conducts a Campaign Academy every two years to train candidates and any other interested members of the public on how to run a campaign. NREA provides the Academy as a public service to the citizens of Nevada.
